Sunday May 16 Home

Warm, sunny day for the ride home. We poked around Pocatello and American Falls. Neither city looks much different than when we left 15 years ago. Certainly no “boom town” like the Boise area.

We arrived home by 5:00, unpacked and mowed the lawn, which was lush and deep!

Final observations:

  • We had a great trip!
  • There were issues due to Covid-19. Many park facilities were closed.
  • Better advice is to go in June; May is a bit early!
  • Lots of wildlife, although still no moose! (for future reference, in Jackson take Wilson Road to Teton Village for moose!)
  • Mammoth is great place. Lots to do right close by and a good central spot to visit the park.
  • Our little VW is a great road trip car! Comfortable, roomy enough, 37-40 MPG.
  • Total miles 1480
